Survey of urinary tract infection among male students residing in the federal polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti

Urinary tract infections are among the most common bacterial in humans both community and hospital settings, they occur all age groups, usually required urgent treatment. This study aimed at determining prevalence of urinary infection male students residing Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria. Clean-catch midstream urine was collected from fifty (50) area into clean sterile specimen bottles. The samples were processed microbial isolates identified. significantly high (50%). Five strains identified which are; Staphylococcus saphrophyticus, aureus, Escherichia coli, Enterococcus faecalis Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
